61 Disney Statistics on Streaming, Parks, Movies, Revenue and Economic Impact

Disney is measured through several businesses rather than one single audience metric: Experiences revenue, streaming subscriptions, park attendance, theatrical grosses and modeled economic impact. The figures below distinguish fiscal and calendar periods, geography, subscriptions versus people, and company results versus estimates.

Disney Company Revenue and Experiences Scale

Disney Experiences includes parks, resorts, vacations, merchandise and related licensing. In fiscal 2025, the segment reported $36.156 billion in worldwide revenue, up 6% from fiscal 2024, and $9.995 billion in operating income. Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Financial Report

Its reported revenue categories were:

  • Resorts and vacations: $9.210 billion worldwide in fiscal 2025.

  • Merchandise licensing and retail: $4.387 billion worldwide in fiscal 2025.

These are company segment measures, so they describe reported revenue categories rather than a count of visitors, purchases or unique customers.

Disney+ and Hulu Subscriber Statistics and Revenue

Disney’s streaming figures use subscriptions and period-end subscribers, not necessarily deduplicated people. A customer taking multiple services or a bundle can be counted in more than one service total.

Service or measure Period Reported figure Scope
Disney+ September 27, 2025 132 million subscribers Worldwide
Disney+ and Hulu combined September 27, 2025 196 million subscriptions Worldwide; not deduplicated
Disney+ Core October 1, 2022 112.6 million paid subscribers Worldwide; excludes Hotstar
Disney+ Hotstar October 1, 2022 61.3 million paid subscribers Hotstar markets
Total Hulu October 1, 2022 47.2 million paid subscribers Includes SVOD-only and Live TV + SVOD
ESPN+ Fiscal year-end 2022 24.3 million paid subscribers Worldwide

Between fiscal Q3 and Q4 2025, Disney+ increased by 3.8 million subscribers, while combined Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions increased by 12.4 million. The company reported $6.248 billion in fiscal Q4 2025 direct-to-consumer revenue and $352 million in DTC operating income; DTC revenue rose 8% year over year and operating income increased $99 million. Average monthly revenue per paid subscriber shows why service totals are not interchangeable with prices:

  • Disney+ domestic average monthly revenue was $6.97 in fiscal 2023 for the United States and Canada.
  • Disney+ international average monthly revenue was $5.93 in fiscal 2023, excluding Disney+ Hotstar.
  • Disney+ Hotstar average monthly revenue was $0.66 in fiscal 2023.
  • Hulu SVOD-only average monthly revenue was $12.17 in fiscal 2023.
  • Hulu Live TV + SVOD average monthly revenue was $90.52 in fiscal 2023.

These are average revenues, not list prices, and can reflect bundles, promotions, advertising, market mix and foreign exchange. Fiscal Year 2023 Annual Report

Disney’s attendance definition is unique daily entries, includes complimentary entries and excludes children under age three. In fiscal 2025, domestic attendance fell 1% versus fiscal 2024, while international attendance rose 1%.

Fiscal 2025 measure Domestic International
Attendance change versus fiscal 2024 -1% +1%
Per-capita guest spending change +5% +2%
Hotel occupancy 87% 87%
Available room nights 10.236 million 3.173 million
Per-room guest spending change +3% +6%

Per-capita guest spending is ticket, food and merchandise revenue divided by attendance. Per-room spending is based on room, food and beverage, and merchandise revenue per occupied room night; the reported growth rates exclude foreign-exchange effects.

Hotel occupancy is occupied room nights divided by available room nights, with domestic capacity covering Disney domestic hotels and eligible DVC properties. Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Financial Report

The pattern is therefore mixed: attendance was slightly lower domestically and slightly higher internationally, while spending per guest increased in both geographies. Both domestic and international hotel occupancy were 87% in fiscal 2025, but the available-room-night bases differed substantially.

Disney Movie Box-Office Statistics and Blockbuster Performance

Walt Disney Studios reported $5.46 billion in worldwide theatrical box office during calendar 2024, including $2.23 billion in the United States and Canada and $3.23 billion internationally. Disney described itself as the No.

Selected 2024 title results were:

  • Inside Out 2 grossed $1.7 billion worldwide through December 31, 2024, including $653 million domestically and $1.05 billion internationally.

  • Moana 2 reached $906 million worldwide through December 31, 2024.

Disney also reported that three of the four highest-grossing global films of 2024 were Disney releases at the time of its announcement. Some figures were reported while titles remained in active release, so they are not necessarily final lifetime grosses.

Disney Economic Impact and Jobs in the United States

Economic impact is a modeled estimate, not Disney revenue or a payroll count. Disney summarized a report prepared by Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics company, in June 2025.

The study estimated that Disney Parks & Resorts generated $67 billion in annual U.S. economic impact and supported more than 403,000 direct and indirect U.S. jobs across California, Florida and all 50 states. The stated geographic scope for the combined estimate is the entire United States.

For Southern California specifically, the study estimated that Disneyland Resort generated $16.1 billion in annual economic impact and supported more than 102,000 jobs. These regional and national figures are modeled direct-and-indirect effects, not direct company sales or direct employment alone. Disney Operating Costs and Business Performance Statistics

Disney Experiences reported $19.224 billion in operating expenses worldwide in fiscal 2025. The company identified $8.948 billion in operating labor cost, $3.511 billion in infrastructure costs, and $3.253 billion in cost of goods sold and distribution costs. Fiscal Q4 2025 results provide a shorter-period view of selected operating groups:

Fiscal Q4 2025 measure Revenue Operating income Geography or group
Domestic Parks & Experiences $5.857 billion $920 million Domestic
International Parks & Experiences $1.742 billion $375 million International
Consumer Products $1.167 billion $583 million Disney Consumer Products

The quarter ended September 27, 2025, and the figures are quarterly segment measures rather than full-year totals. Fiscal Year 2025 Earnings Release

For the full fiscal year, Disney reported that Experiences operating income increased $723 million to a record $10.0 billion versus fiscal 2024, with the level rounded by the company. Disney fiscal years do not end on December 31, so fiscal 2025 results should not be read as calendar-year 2025 results.
